Funny kitties why do cats love cardboard boxes?
Introduction
Meow! Who knocks on
the door? Oh hey, it's the postman; I hope he brings us a packaging in a macaron boxes!
Don't get me wrong, I don't care about the content … I just love boxes!
This
passion is not without meaning!
Cardboard boxes in custom packaging for small business have
always been safe spaces! the boxes are reassuring spaces for cats. I remember
the time my owners took me to their home. I was pretty scared! I had to leave
my mother and my siblings to find myself in this new house populated by many
humans (large and small), and a myriad of furniture and smells that had been
completely unknown to me until then. . So as soon as I saw this box in the
corner, I dove in! What was it I was there!
Fortunately, my owners
had learned about the needs of a newly arrived kitten. They had installed a
comfortable blanket in the box, as well as an equally welcoming bed across the
room. So, after a while, I got out of the box to discover my new home… I have
to say that I like it now that I'm grown up and that I've got used to it.
I'm
curious!
OK, I admit it! I'm a
curious kitty, so I like to look at all the new things coming around the house.
Of course, I always smell them first; did you know that my sense of smell is 14
times more powerful than humans? My favorite smells are:
My favorite bed or
pillow: there is nothing more comforting than the smell of the place where I
like to curl up. Even if FELIWAY Optimum could almost compete with it!
My owners: I don't feel like
cuddling and affection every day, but that doesn't mean I don't adore my
owners!
My favorite food: nothing whets my
appetite more than the smell of my favorite meal!
Catnip (catnip): I know not all cats
like it, but after smelling this plant, I suddenly want to play and have an
irresistible urge to chase my dummy mouse favorite!
On the other hand, if
there is one thing that does not interest me it is citrus fruits: I do not like
lemons or oranges, and when I say that I do not like them, it is because if I
came to eat them they could make me sick!
So, if I find a box
that has contained citrus, I risk ignoring it. But, on the other hand, when I
like the smell of a cardboard box, I jump in it and I claim it by rubbing
myself against its walls and depositing my scent there!
They
make excellent hiding places
Cardboard
boxes make great hiding places for cats
Sometimes the vibe
here gets a little too hectic for me. There are children at home who can be
very loud, I prefer to have a place to hide and be more comfortable. The
packages are generally for children, while they are having fun with their new
toys, I find my happiness in the boxes they arrived. I can slip in and take
cover, without them knowing where I went!
And to make me even
more relaxed, my owners plugged in the new FELIWAY Optimum diffuser. Between
that and my boxes, I'm really in cat heaven!
It
is that we are there!
Although the cartons
are very light, their interior is surprisingly comfortable because they are
made of several cardboard layers. Cats have a higher body temperature than humans,
so we need to stay warm, and that's good, because I'm good at slipping into
small spaces to make myself comfortable.
Did you know that my
mustaches are kind of radar? I can't see up close, so I use my whiskers to
figure out how much space I can slip into and when it's best to give up, smart
isn't it? They are not there only to make pretty (I already know that I am
beautiful), they are essential for us cats.
I
feel safe there
Cats
Often Feel Safe in Boxes
When something makes
me anxious, I'm happy to have a box to jump in. Cutting myself off from the
surrounding action for a while gives me a feeling of protection; the outside
world can be a little too hectic for my liking.
My wild ancestors did
much the same. Of course, they didn't have any cardboard boxes available, but
they still hid in small, enclosed spaces, such as under a bush. In doing so,
they escaped predators, but also took advantage of these covered spaces to hide
before pouncing on their prey.
